Raiders Release 60th Season Logo

The Oakland Raiders released a 60th season logo commemorating the team's history, the birth of the American Football League, and the vision of iconic Raiders owner Al Davis.

The centerpiece of the logo is the Al Davis memorial torch that is lit prior to each Raiders home game. The torch is a tribute to Mr. Davis' legacy as the Raiders' long-time owner, Pro Football Hall of Fame inductee, AFL Coach of the Year, AFL Commissioner, and the architect of the Raiders' Commitment to Excellence. An intentionally bright flame sits atop the torch in recognition of Mr. Davis' enduring vision that "the fire that burns brightest in the Raiders' organization is the will to win."

The torch is surrounded by the number 60 in numerals replicating those used on the club's game jerseys in 1960. "American Football League" is written around the perimeter of the logo in the Raiders' traditional team font, recognizing that both the Raiders and the American Football League launched together in 1960.

The years 1960 and 2019 are set inside of a scroll modeled after the scrolls used on the club's three Super Bowl championship rings. On the Super Bowl rings, each scroll contains the score of a Super Bowl or AFC Championship game. Finally, the Raiders' iconic shield anchors the design with the most renowned logo in all of professional sports.

The logo will be worn on the Raiders' home and away jerseys throughout the 2019 season. For each Raiders home game, the three-time Super Bowl champions will tailor the logo to celebrate a particular achievement, including victories in Super Bowl XI, Super Bowl XV, and Super Bowl XVIII; the 1967 AFL Championship; the club's history in Oakland and Los Angeles; and the fans of the entire Raider Nation.
