2025 NFL salary cap set at record high

NFL teams on Thursday were notified of the salary cap for the upcoming league year – a record-high $279.2 million per team, per NFL Vice President of Communications Brian McCarthy.

The new total is an increase of $23.8 million from 2024.

As of the Raiders, the team has flexibility to build the roster with a projected $96.4 million available to spend, per OverTheCap.com, which tracks estimates of each team's cap space.

The new league year, which also marks the start of free agency, begins March 12 at 1 p.m. PT. The Silver and Black have 27 pending free agents after most recently signing safety Isaiah Pola-Mao earlier this week.
