Former Raiders cornerback Eric Allen and guard Steve Wisniewski are one step closer to reaching Canton, Ohio.
The Pro Football Hall of Fame has reached the semifinalist stage for the Class of 2025, trimming the list of candidates from 167 down to 25. Of those 25, two have donned the Silver and Black.
Eric Allen, now a TV analyst for the Raiders, played in 58 regular season games with 56 starts in the Silver and Black plus four postseason games, accumulating 15 interceptions, three of which he returned for touchdowns. The six-time Pro Bowler amassed 54 interceptions in the entirety of his 14-year NFL career. This is Allen's fifth time making the semifinal round for the Hall of Fame.
Steve Wisniewski played in 206 games with 206 starts of a possible 208 regular season games over his 13-year career with the Raiders as well nine postseason games. The guard was a two-time First-Team All-Pro, eight-time Pro Bowler and was selected to the NFL 1990s All-Decade Team. This is his second time being named a semifinalist for the Hall.
The Modern-Era Players category will be a cut to 15 finalists in late December, with the Class of 2025 to be announced at NFL Honors in New Orleans, Louisiana, in February.
