Five Takeaways From Head Coach Jack Del Rio's Friday Press Conference

Following his team's "Fast Friday" practice, Oakland Raiders Head Coach Jack Del Rio addressed the media at the team's Alameda, Calif., facility.

Here are the highlights from his remarks.

Head Coach Del Rio wouldn't commit to a kick returner for Sunday.

"We'll have somebody back there, but I'm not ready to declare anything publicly."

He also addressed the absence of defensive back TJ Carrie.

"You'd rather have him. Clearly we all have to deal with injuries at one point or another in the season. We're really not about worrying about what we don't have. Whoever's called on to play, we expect them to step in there and play well for us and we carry on."

The praise of wide receiver Michael Crabtree continued.

"He's been, from Day 1 arriving here, he's been a treat to coach. Very professional. Great worker. He's really took on kind of a mentor role in that wideout room. I just can't say enough positives about him. He's really been a great teammate and really productive player for us."

Defensive end Benson Mayowa is back in action.

"Well we'll take every healthy body we can get. We have a few guys who are banged this week, a few guys who won't be able to go. Getting Benson [Mayowa] back certainly is a bright spot. A good bit of news."

It was a good week of work.

"We're ready to play. We had a good week of preparation and now we're about 48 hours out from the game right now in the buildup and the countdown and getting ourselves mostly and mentally ready to give everything we have Sunday."
