With their final pick of the 2016 NFL Draft (No. 234 overall), the Raiders selected LSU guard Vadal Alexander.
Here's what you need to know about the Raiders newest offensive lineman.
1. Alexander has the pedigree
Alexander brought home the hardware as a senior.
In 2015, he was named an All-America Second Team player, was named to the All-SEC team, and was named the SEC Offensive Lineman of the Week twice – after games against Auburn and Florida, respectively.
2. He also has the size
Listed at 6'6" and tipping the scales at 329 pounds, Alexander's massive frame was one of the strengths listed on his NFL.com draft profile.
3. Getting selected by the Raiders was a surprise
"I actually didn't have much contact with [the Raiders] going into this," said Alexander via conference call. "It was kind of a little bit of a surprise to get that call from them."
4. Tackle or guard, it doesn't matter
Alexander has experience playing both tackle and guard, but for him, it doesn't matter where along the line he'll be playing for the Silver and Black.
"I've kind of grown a love for both of them, so I don't really have a favorite, one or the other to be honest with you," Alexander explained. "It's something that I'm definitely going to be willing to do, just work my butt off. Whatever the coaching staff wants me to do, whatever the coach wants me to play at or perform at, I'm more than happy to oblige."
5. Saturday was an unforgettable day, and he's ready to get to work
"I'm just happy to be a Raider," Alexander said. "I'm happy to be here. I was meant to be here, so I'm ready to just put the work in and go."
