Josh Jacobs passes Marcus Allen, setting the Raiders rookie record for rushing yards

Josh Jacobs has been one of the NFL's best stories this season.

The Raiders' first-round pick out of Alabama has himself in the midst of an Offensive Rookie of the Year debate, and he's surpassed several Raiders records along the way.

Sunday afternoon against the Detroit Lions, Jacobs broke Marcus Allen's record for most rushing yards by a rookie with 708 rushing yards, going for 88 yards in the first half along with two touchdowns. Not only did he pass Marcus Allen's rookie rushing record, but he's the first Raiders player to score more than five rushing touchdowns in his first eight games. Also, according to Pro Football Reference, Jacobs is the first player since Ickey Woods in 1988 to have three games with multiple rushing touchdowns over the span of eight games.

Josh Jacobs has eclipsed some of the most-storied running backs in NFL and Raiders history this season, and he's only eight games into his career. If he can stay healthy, No. 28 can add to his already impressive season total and continue etching his name in Raiders history. He's currently on pace for over 1,400 rushing yards and 12 touchdowns.
