Maxx Crosby has been named the Raiders' nominee for the 11th annual Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, which is presented to a player who personifies sportsmanship on the field including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition.
This marks the third straight year the defensive end has been nominated for the honor. In 2023, Crosby was one of eight finalists.
"He's a professional," Head Coach Antonio Pierce said. "He's a pro's pro. He's first one in the building, last one to leave. Great teammate, hard worker, takes no plays off. Everything he does is intentional and it's with the priority of the Raiders, the Raider Way. He wants to go down as the ultimate Raider and he's doing that now as a teammate and again, all the honors that he has coming his way are well deserved."
The award was established in 2014 and is named in honor of the late founding owner of the Pittsburgh Steelers, Art Rooney Sr.
A panel of former players, part of the NFL Legends Community, will select eight finalists (four in each conference) from the 32 nominees. Then, each team's players will submit a consensus vote of their choice for the winner. However, a team cannot vote for its own player.
The winner will be announced at NFL Honors where he will receive a $25,000 donation from the NFL Foundation to a charity of his choice. The last Raider to win the award was Charles Woodson in 2015.
