Former Oakland Raiders coach Tony Sparano passed away unexpectedly Sunday; he was 56.
Sparano joined the Raiders in 2013 as the offensive line coach, and took over as the interim head coach in 2014, Derek Carr and Khalil Mack's rookie season. Following the news of his passing, the pair, among others, took to Twitter to offer their condolences to the Sparano family during this difficult time.

The Raiders issued the following statement following Sparano's sudden passing:
"The Raiders family was deeply saddened to learn of Tony Sparano's passing this morning. Tony had a deep passion for football and was embraced by the Raider Nation during his time with the Silver and Black. Tony will be sadly missed by the entire NFL community. Our hearts are with Jeanette and the Sparano family during this extremely difficult time."
