Defense Notes

  • DT Matthew Butler finished with three tackles, 1.0 sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit. He also notched his sack in the first quarter, bringing down 49ers QB Brock Purdy for a loss of three.
  • LB Amari Gainer led the defense with 12 total tackles (10 solo) and two tackles for loss. His 12 tackles are the most by a Raider in the preseason since 2017.
  • S Chris Smith finished with five tackles (four solo), one interception and one pass defensed. Smith pick off a tipped pass from 49ers QB Brock Purdy at the LV 8 and returned it 33 yards to the LV 41 in the second quarter.
  • DT Byron Young finished with three tackles (two solo), 1.0 sack, one tackle for loss and one quarterback hit. Young brought down 49ers QB Brandon Allen for a sack and a 4-yard loss in the second quarter.

Special Team Notes

  • K Daniel Carlson finished 1-for-1 (100.0%) on field goals (43) and 3-for-3 (100.0%) on extra points for six total points.
  • P AJ Cole punted six times for 321 yards (53.5 avg.) and downed two punts inside the 20-yard line today. Cole is averaging 45.0 net yards per punt in the preseason, the seventh mark in the league (min. five punts).
  • WR Tyreik McAllister took back a 49ers punt 81 yards for a touchdown in the second quarter, the first punt return in the preseason for the Raiders since 2008 (Johnnie Lee Higgins (53 yards vs. SF, 8/8/08).
