4 Raiders ranked among best in their position group by Pro Football Focus

In anticipation for the 2024 NFL season, Pro Football Focus released its annual lists of who PFF analysts view as the top players in the league at each position group.

For a second consecutive season, PFF ranked four Raiders within the top 10 of their respective positions.

Maxx Crosby, Edge Defender, No. 5

Maxx Crosby posted career highs in 2023 in defensive grade (92.1) and run defense grade (92.7) by PFF, along with leading the league in tackles for loss (23) for a second consecutive season. He accomplished these feats while playing at least 1,000 snaps for a second straight season.

"2023 was his third straight year of earning an elite overall grade, and it was his first elite run-defense grade while maintaining a pass-rush win rate above 15.0% and notching 94 quarterback pressures," wrote PFF's Trevor Sikkema.

Davante Adams, Wide Receiver, No. 6

Davante Adams secured a sixth consecutive season with a receiving grade of at least 80 from Pro Football Focus while leading the Silver and Black in catches (103), receiving yards (1,144) and tying with Jakobi Meyers for the most touchdown grabs (eight).

"He remains arguably the best route-runner in football," wrote PFF's Sam Monson.

Kolton Miller, Offensive Tackle, No. 10

Kolton Miller finds himself among the top 10 offensive tackles after notching his third consecutive season with at least an 80 offensive grade. He's now the longest tenured Raider on the roster, being a first-round pick out of UCLA in 2018.

"Miller gave up pressure on just 4.0% of dropbacks in 2023, tied for the fifth-best rate among offensive tackles in the NFL," wrote PFF's Zoltán Buday."This is even more impressive, given that Miller was slowed down by an injury over the second half of the season. Over the last four years, Miller's 87.1 pass-blocking grade ranks third among left tackles during that period."

Christian Wilkins, Interior Defender, No. 10

The signing of Christian Wilkins is bound to make the Raiders defense more stout. He's accounted for 12.5 sacks and nearly 100 solo tackles over the past two seasons.

"New Raiders acquisition Christian Wilkins was an all-around force for the Miami Dolphins over the past few seasons," wrote Monson. "He has the fourth-best PFF run-defense grade among all interior defenders over the past two seasons and racked up a career-high 61 quarterback pressures in 2023."
