Raiders kick off 2025 voluntary offseason program

It was a productive day for the Raiders, with players filing into the practice facility as early as 5 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The team kicked off its voluntary offseason training program April 8. The first two weeks consists of activities limited to meetings, strength and conditioning, and physical rehabilitation only.

While this portion of the offseason program is voluntary, that didn't stop several of the Raiders' top players from being in the building. This included Maxx Crosby, Christian Wilkins and new quarterback Geno Smith, who signed a contract extension with the Raiders on Monday.

New head coaches are entitled to conduct an additional voluntary veteran minicamp, which Pete Carroll and his team will get underway April 21-23 shortly before the start of the NFL Draft.

Following the draft, the Raiders will begin Phase Two off the offseason program – a three-week period in which on-field workouts may include individual or group instruction and drills, as well as "perfect play drills," and drills and plays with offensive players lining up across from offensive players and defensive players lining up across from defensive players, conducted at a walk-through pace. No live contact or team offense vs. team defense drills are permitted.
