The state of the Raiders roster ahead of the 2025 NFL Draft

The Las Vegas Raiders are currently eight days away from the start of the 2025 NFL Draft, in which they hold nine draft picks. That total includes two compensatory picks on Day 3 of the annual event.

Take a quick look at the construction of the current roster before rookies and more free agents are added.

Quarterbacks (alphabetical order)

The Raiders traded for Geno Smith in March and signed him to a contract extension earlier this month. Smith started 49 games over the last three seasons for the Seattle Seahawks, throwing 71 touchdown passes in that span. Aidan O'Connell took over as the starter for the Raiders midseason in 2024, with 1,612 passing yards and eight touchdowns thrown in his nine games played. Carter Bradley spent the majority of the season on the practice squad before signing to the active roster heading into Week 15.

Zamir White opened the 2024 season as the lead back in the Raiders backfield, complemented by Dylan Laube, Sincere McCormick and Chris Collier throughout the season. The Silver and Black signed Raheem Mostert in free agency, after he rushed for 23 touchdowns over his previous three seasons with the Miami Dolphins. Former Los Angeles Chargers running back Isaiah Spiller signed to the Raiders practice squad near the end of the 2024 season.

Jakobi Meyers and Tre Tucker handled the duties as starting wideouts for the majority of the season, with Meyers securing his first season over 1,000 yards in his NFL career. Alex Bachman, Kristian Wilkerson, Tyreik McAllister and rookie Ramel Keyton also saw action throughout the season as well. Kyle Philips signed to the roster this offseason after spending two seasons with the Tennessee Titans.

Brock Bowers had a rookie season for the ages, setting a franchise record for most receptions in a single season and NFL records for most receptions by a rookie at any position and most receiving yards by a rookie tight end in a single season. Michael Mayer and Justin Shorter appeared in an combined 21 games for the Raiders in 2024. Ian Thomas joins the tight ends room after playing for the Carolina Panthers for seven seasons, totaling 119 catches and four touchdowns in his tenure.

The Raiders have five starting O-linemen returning in Kolton Miller, DJ Glaze, Jordan Meredith, Dylan Parham and Jackson Powers-Johnson. Thayer Munford Jr. appeared in 14 games with four starts while Will Putnam and Dalton Wagner were fixtures on the practice squad. Veteran guard and Super Bowl LV champion Alex Cappa signed to the team this offseason, and could compete for a role in the starting rotation.

Maxx Crosby led the team in sacks for a third consecutive season, however an ankle injury sidelined for the last five games of the season. Christian Wilkins and Malcolm Koonce also suffered debilitating injuries that sidelined them for the majority of the season. The defensive line was dependent upon Adam Butler, Tyree Wilson, Charles Snowden and rookie Jonah Laulu, who all played in at least 16 games in 2024.

The Raiders return five linebackers who were on the active roster or practice squad last season, including Amari Burney and rookie UDFA Amari Gainer who appeared in all 17 games. This offseason, the team added veterans Elandon Roberts and Devin White to the linebacking corps. The two have a combined 733 solo tackles in their careers.

Jakorian Bennett recorded eight pass defections in 2024 while allowing a 52.3 completion percentage in coverage before a shoulder injury sidelined him for the last seven games of the season. Isaiah Pola-Mao stepped up due to a slew of injuries, coming away with five pass deflections, two forced fumbles and 57 solo tackles. Along with Pola-Mao, defensive backs Darnay Holmes and Thomas Harper appeared in at least 15 games last season. This offseason, the Silver and Black signed Jeremy Chinn, Eric Stokes and Lonnie Johnson Jr. in efforts to add depth to the secondary.

The special teams trio of Daniel Carlson, AJ Cole and Jacob Bobenmoyer completed their second season together in 2024. Cole set a career high in yards per punt (50.8) while Carlson made 85 percent of his field goal attempts, not missing a single one from 39 yards or less.
