Mitch Singler enters his first season as assistant tight ends coach with the Raiders in 2024, having spent the past two seasons (2022-23) as the team's offensive quality control coach.
As the offensive quality control coach in 2023, Singler's primary focus was assisting the wide receiver unit. In 2023, free agent addition WR Jakobi Meyers set a single-season career high with eight receiving touchdowns, finishing with 71 catches for 807 yards (11.4 avg.). WR Davante Adams also notch his fourth-straight season with 100+ catches and 1,000+ receiving yards, becoming one of just two players in the league (Stefon Diggs) to have 100+ receptions in the last four seasons.
In his first season with the Silver and Black, Singler worked closely with the wide receivers and saw WR Davante Adams set a franchise record with 1,526 receiving yards, while his 14 receiving touchdowns ranked as the most in the NFL and tied for second-most in a single season in franchise history. Singler also helped WR Mack Hollins to career highs with 57 receptions, 690 receiving yards and four touchdowns.
Prior to joining Las Vegas, Singler spent four seasons at Duke, serving as a football analyst working primarily with the offense for three seasons (2018-20) before being elevated to offensive quality control coordinator in 2021.
Last season, Singler helped coach RB Mateo Durant to first team All-ACC honors after rushing for 1,233 yards and nine touchdowns. Under the guidance of Singler, Durant finished first in the ACC in rushing attempts (256), second in rushing yards (1,233), second in rushing yards per game (102.8) and seventh in rushing touchdowns (nine).
In 2020, Singler mentored Durant and RB Deon Jackson who both surpassed the 600-yard rushing mark on the ground, finishing with 817 and 682 yards, respectively. Durant led the team with four 100-yard rushing games and ranked seventh in the ACC in rushing yards (817) and fourth in rushing yards per attempt (6.8).
In 2019, Singler worked with Jackson who led the team with 641 rushing yards and ranked ninth in the ACC with 172 rushing attempts. Singler saw Jackson earn second team All-ACC honors in 2018 after leading the Blue Devils in rushing yards (847) and rushing touchdowns (seven).
Prior to Duke, Singler served two seasons (2016-17) as the offensive quality control coach at his alma mater Oregon State. In 2017, Singler helped RB Ryan Nall finish with a team-high 810 rushing yards and eight rushing touchdowns. Nall was named a Pac-12 honorable mention in 2016 after ranking sixth in the Pac-12 in rushing yards (951), sixth in rushing yards per attempt (6.5) and third in rushing touchdowns (13).
PERSONAL: A native of Medford, Ore., Singler played wide receiver at Oregon State and helped the Beavers to bowl games in 2009 (Las Vegas Bowl), 2011 (Alamo Bowl) and 2013 (Hawaii Bowl) before graduating in 2014 with a degree in marketing…He and his wife, Janae, have one son, Easton (2).
