For a total of 100 days, we took a look at the men who have played for the Raiders jersey number by jersey number. This series highlights some of the greatest players in NFL history. In some cases, the player and jersey number are synonymous. In other cases, the jersey number represents sustained greatness at a particular position. Some players are superstitious about their jersey number. Whatever the case may be, jersey numbers are an important part of the fabric of professional football.

Day 100.
Nine players have worn jersey No. 99, including some accomplished pass rushers and interesting characters.
Ruben Vaughan – DE/DT – 1982
Vaughan joined the Raiders after playing for the 49ers in 1979. He played in nine games and recorded four sacks. He went on to play for Minnesota in 1984.
Sean Jones – DE – 1984-87
The Raiders selected Jones in the 2nd round of the 1984 NFL Draft out of Northeastern. He played in 59 games with 32 starts and recorded 31 sacks and three fumble recoveries. He went on to play for the Houston Oilers and Green Bay Packers.
Winston Moss – LB – 1991-94
Moss joined the Raiders after four years with Tampa Bay. He played in 63 games with 62 starts and recorded seven sacks and recovered two fumbles. He also played for Seattle.
Aundray Bruce – DE – 1995-98
Bruce joined the Raiders after four years with the Falcons. He played for the Raiders from 1992-98 and switched from No. 56 to No. 99 in 1995. In all, he played in 89 games with seven starts and recorded 16 sacks, one interception, one forced fumble and two fumble recoveries.
Josh Taves – DE – 2000-01
An undrafted free agent out of Northeastern, Taves played in 24 games with three starts and recorded one interception for 24 yards and 4.0 sacks.
DeLawrence Grant – DE/LB – 2002-03
The Raiders selected Grant in the 3rd round of the 2001 NFL Draft out of Oregon State. He wore three jersey numbers for the Raiders – 59, 95 and 99. In all, he played in 49 games with 27 starts and recorded 7.0 sacks and one fumble recovery to go with 45 solo tackles.

Warren Sapp – DT – 2004-07
Sapp joined the Raiders after nine years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He played in and started 58 games and recorded 19.5 sacks, one interception, forced four fumbles and recovered three fumbles. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2013.
Greg Ellis – DE – 2009
Ellis joined the Raiders after 11 years with the Cowboys. He played in 14 games with 14 starts and recorded 7.0 sacks, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
Lamarr Houston – DE – 2010-13
The Raiders selected Houston in the 2nd round of the 2010 NFL Draft out of Texas. He played in 64 games with 60 starts and recorded 16 sacks, one interception, four forced fumbles and six fumble recoveries.
