John Pagano has 22 years of NFL coaching experience under his belt, and after spending the past 15 seasons with the San Diego Chargers, he has certainly crossed paths with a wide variety of both current and former NFL players.
Two of those players – Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Philip Rivers and Baltimore Ravens safety Eric Weddle – are in Orlando, Fla., for the 2017 Pro Bowl, and Wednesday afternoon, the pair shared their thoughts on the newest addition to the Oakland Raiders coaching staff.
Philip Rivers
"He's been there in San Diego for 15 years, so he was the longest-tenured guy, coach, player, in the building, a guy I've spent a lot of time with. Obviously he was on the defensive side of the ball, but we've both been there a long time together. He's a heck of a coach."
Eric Weddle
"A great hire. Unbelievable coach. He'll definitely coach his tail off, a genius on the back end, and scheming up defenses, and doing whatever it takes to have a good defense. [I'm] happy for him, and excited for what he's going to do, and bring to the table for the Raiders."
