Oakland Raiders linebacker NaVorro Bowman has been the model of consistency since joining the team back in October. Since joining the team in Week 7 of the 2017 regular season, No. 53 has totaled 89 tackles, one-and-a-half sacks, one fumble recovery, two passes defensed, and an interception. In the 10 games he played for the Silver and Black this season, Bowman was consistently one of the best tacklers on the team, and Sunday, in the team's season finale, the former Penn State Nittany Lion notched his highest total this season with 13, which led all defenders.
In addition to his 13 tackles Sunday against the Los Angeles Chargers, Bowman also tallied half-a-sack, one tackle for loss, and one quarterback hit. Albeit in a 30-10 losing effort against the Chargers, Bowman had one of his best games as a Raider. The Raiders were loaded with young talent defensively, and it was clear Bowman was the veteran among the group, and it's because of his efforts that the defense saw an uptick in production from the linebacker position.
While Bowman's performance didn't stop the Raiders' division rival from dropping 30 points, he did earn the Elite Performance of the Week, presented by Bridgestone.
