Bruce Irvin's second season with the Oakland Raiders saw the linebacker tie his career-high in sacks (8), while adding four forced fumbles – he has 10 in the last two years, no other player has more – and three passes defensed. The Slash Brother has certainly helped free up former Defensive Player of the Year Khalil Mack on the opposite side, and is an important piece of the Raiders pass rush.
Monday, the NFL started its "Top 100 Players of 2018" countdown, and Irvin cracked the list, coming in at No. 85. After failing to be ranked in 2017, Irvin was determined to be honored among his peers, and following another productive season, he's gained more recognition throughout the league.
"He makes plays, man," said Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon. "And his presence is felt when he's out there."
