- Darren was born in North Little Rock, Ark. and is the tenth of twelve siblings.
- He attended Pulaski Oak Grove High School where he won numerous awards including the Arkansas High School Player of the Year, the Landers award, which is given to the top player in the state, and he was also named a *Parade *All-American in 2004.
- McFadden played collegiately at Arkansas and won consecutive Doak Walker Awards, and twice finished as the runner-up for the Heisman Trophy.
- RUN DMC is currently ranked seventh on the Raiders all-time rushing list (3,713) and ninth on the team's all-time rushing touchdowns list (23).
- In a 2013 game against the Broncos, he threw his first career touchdown when he connected with Marcel Reece for a 16-yard touchdown reception.
