Oakland Raiders rookie WR Jacoby Ford has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his performance in the Raiders 23-20 overtime win over the Kansas City Chiefs in 2010 NFL Regular Season Week 9 action.
Ford made a number of key plays during the Silver and Black's victory over the Chiefs. The fourth round pick out of Clemson returned the second half kickoff 94 yards for a touchdown. The play got the Silver and Black on the scoreboard and sparked a Raiders rally. He finished with 4 kickoff returns for 156 yards.
Ford also caught 6 passes for 148 yards including grabs of 29, 37 and 47. The 29-yard catch set up K Sebastian Janikowski's game-tying 41-yard field goal with three seconds left in regulation. The 47-yard diving snare gave the Raiders 1st and 10 at the Chiefs 15 and set up Janikowski's 33-yard game-winning kick.
Ford became just the second player in NFL history to have at least 140 receiving yards and 150 kick return yards in a game during the Raiders 23-20 OT win over Kansas City.
The other player to accomplish this feat was Gary Ballman on November 17, 1963, for the Pittsburgh Steelers at the Washington Redskins. Ballman had 161 receiving yards and 159 return yards in a 34-28 Steelers win.
