Janikowski Named AFC Special Teams Player of the Month

Raiders K Sebastian Janikowski has been named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Month for September. Janikowski was five-for-six on field goal attempts and a perfect 11-for-11 on extra point attempts during the month of September for 26 total points. Two of his field goals were longer than 50 yards, including a 63-yarder at Denver on September 12 that tied the NFL record for the longest field goal. He also booted field goals from 54 and 49 yards out against the New York Jets on September 25 and his only miss during the month was a 56-yard attempt from the infield dirt at O.co Coliseum. He also recorded an NFL-high 13 touchbacks on kickoffs during the month of September.
