Long Snapper Jon Condo
The NFL has made a concerted effort to honor military members and thank them for what they've put on the line for their communities. Players, coaches, and staff have strived to give back to those who have fought for our freedom. Oakland Raiders long snapper Jon Condo was named as one of 32 nominees for the sixth annual Salute to Service Award presented by USAA. This honor was created to acknowledge individuals who have measurably demonstrated their appreciation and gratitude toward the military.
Condo has supported a variety of military groups including, the Sentinels of Freedom, a nonprofit organization that assists severely wounded and injured post 9/11 veterans in their efforts to become productive and self-sufficient members of their communities as they transition back into civilian life.
Both of Condo's grandfathers served in World War II, and he has a brother-in-law who served in the Army. The finalists for the award will be announced in January of 2017 and the recipient of the award will be honored on FOX the night before the Super Bowl on Feb. 4.
