The Los Angeles Rams placed a league-high six players on the 2017 All-NFL team, chosen in voting conducted by the Professional Football Writers of America (PFWA).
The Rams placed running back Todd Gurley and tackle Andrew Whitworth on the offense, tackle Aaron Donald on the defense and three on special teams: placekicker Greg Zuerlein, punter Johnny Hekker and kickoff returner Pharoh Cooper.
The Philadelphia Eagles and Pittsburgh Steelers each had three All-NFL selections. The Eagles placed center Jason Kelce and tackle Lane Johnson on the offense and tackle Fletcher Cox on the defense. The Steelers placed three players on the offense: running back Le'Veon Bell, wide receiver Antonio Brown and guard David DeCastro.
The Arizona Cardinals, Jacksonville Jaguars, New England Patriots and the Minnesota Vikings each had two players on the All-NFL team. In all, 14 clubs are represented among the 27 players honored by the PFWA.
A total of six players were repeat selections from the PFWA's 2016 All-NFL team. In addition to the Steelers' Brown and the Rams' Donald and Hekker, Dallas Cowboys guard Zack Martin, Denver Broncos outside linebacker Von Miller and Seattle Seahawks middle linebacker Bobby Wagner also received 2016 honors. Brown and Miller were named All-NFL for the fourth consecutive season, the longest current streak among active players, while Hekker and Martin were selected for the third consecutive season
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski (2011-12, 2014-15, 2017) and Miller (2012, 2014-17) were selected All-NFL for the fifth time, Hekker (2013, 2015-17) was selected for the fourth time, while New England quarterback Tom Brady (2007, 2010, 2017) was selected for the third time.
A total of 18 players were first-time All-NFL selections, including a pair of rookies: Detroit Lions punt returners Jamal Agnew and Cardinals special teamer Budda Baker.
The All-NFL offense includes Brady at quarterback, Bell and Gurley at running back, Brown and the Houston Texans' DeAndre Hopkins at wide receiver, Gronkowski at tight end, Kelce at center, DeCastro and Martin at guard and Johnson and Whitworth at tackle.
The All-NFL defense includes the Jaguars' Calais Campbell and the New Orleans Saints' Cameron Jordan at defensive end, Donald and Cox at defensive tackle, the Cardinals' Chandler Jones and Miller at outside linebacker, Wagner at middle linebacker, Jacksonville's Jalen Ramsey and Minnesota's Xavier Rhodes at cornerback and the Tennessee Titans' Kevin Byard and Minnesota's Harrison Smith at safety.
The All-NFL special teams include Zuerlein at placekicker, Hekker at punter, Cooper at kickoff returner, Agnew at punt returner and Baker as the special teamer.
The PFWA also announced the All-AFC and All-NFC teams. The Steelers led all AFC teams with six conference selections, while the Jaguars and Patriots each had four AFC honorees. The Eagles and Rams led all NFC clubs with six conference selections each, while the Saints had four NFC honorees.
