Oakland Raiders P Shane Lechler has been named to the 2000s NFL All-Decade Team. Richard Seymour, who played defensive end for the Raiders in 2009, was selected as a defensive tackle on the All-Decade team. Seymour, acquired in a trade with New England, recorded 47 tackles and four sacks as a Raider last season.

Lechler punted once for 54 yards in the 2010 Pro Bowl. The Pro Bowl selection is the fifth for Lechler, who led the NFL in gross (51.1) and net punting average (43.9) in 2009.

Lechler has 778 career punts for 36,811 yards in 10 pro seasons. He was originally a fifth-round draft pick out of Texas A&M University by the Raiders in 2000. Lechler's 47.3-yard career punting average is the highest in NFL history for players with at least 250 attempts.

The NFL All-Decade teams are chosen every 10 years by the Pro Football Hall of Fame Selection Committee members. The 2000s will mark the ninth All-Decade team to be selected in NFL history.
