For Loring, singing the National Anthem at Raiders home games has become an annual tradition.
"All these years I've been singing for the Raiders, it feels like coming home again. The Raider fans are probably the best in the world as far as I can see," Loring said. "The energy is always so exciting and I always feel happy to partake in what this organization is about, which is really a first class organization."
According to her official bio, Loring "is known for her energy, commitment and joy. She is the recording artist of the #1 hit song Friends and Lovers; co-composer of television theme songs Diff'rent Strokes *and *Facts Of Life; an audience favorite from daytime TV's Days Of Our Lives; spokesperson for the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation; author of four books, including her newest, *Living With Type 2 Diabetes: Moving Past the Fear; *a keynote speaker for corporations and non-profits; and one of the few artists to sing two nominated songs at the Academy Awards. As a performer, she toggles effortlessly from classic rock to standards, from Broadway to pop – in clubs, performing arts centers, symphonies, casinos and fairs."
She has definitely become a standard bearer for The Oakland Raiders and the Raider Nation.
"I just consider it an honor to be invited back. I've done the home game now a number of years in a row," Loring reflected. "It's just fun. It feels like coming home to part of my family."
As Loring kicked off the day with a rousing performance of the National Anthem, the Raiders concluded it with a thrilling 16-14 victory over the St. Louis Rams.
