Maxx Crosby has been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his showing in the Raiders' 26-23 victory against the Baltimore Ravens.
The edge rusher set the tone from start to finish, registering six total tackles, four tackles for loss, two sacks and a pass deflection. He ranked first among all AFC defensive linemen in solo tackles (five) and first among all players in the AFC in tackles for loss in Week 2. He also played every defensive snap in the game.
"[Maxx Crosby] was just being an impactful player – the high motor guy [that] he was – and he got two sacks today," Ravens' Lamar Jackson said postgame Sunday."He was just doing what he was doing."
This is the fifth time in Crosby's career that he's been named AFC Defensive Player of the Week, the most of any defender in Raiders history. This is also the second time in his career that he's received this honor against this opponent, also winning Defensive Player of the Week in the Raiders' 2021 season opener against the Ravens.
