The franchise tag period officially ended Tuesday afternoon at 1:00 p.m. PT, and unsurprisingly, the Oakland Raiders elected not to exercise any of the three tagging options.
The three tags are the non-exclusive franchise tag, the exclusive franchise tag, and the transition tag, which in essence all result in a player being under contract for one year with their current team.
The Silver and Black haven't used the tag since 2012, but in 2018, five teams did, with one team using the transition tag.
Here they are:
Chicago Bears
Cornerback Kyle Fuller – Transition Tag
Dallas Cowboys
Defensive end DeMarcus Lawrence – Non-Exclusive Franchise Tag
Detroit Lions
Defensive end Ziggy Ansah – Non-Exclusive Franchise Tag
Los Angeles Rams
Safety Lamarcus Joyner – Non-Exclusive Franchise Tag
Miami Dolphins
Wide receiver Jarvis Landry – Non-Exclusive Franchise Tag
Pittsburgh Steelers
Running back Le'Veon Bell – Exclusive Franchise Tag
Free agency officially kicks off Wednesday, March 14 at 1:00 PM.
As of now, the Raiders have 10 unrestricted free agents and five exclusive rights free agents on the roster.
