Golden State Warriors Assistant Coach Mike Brown
Just a few months removed from winning an NBA Championship, Golden State Warriors Assistant Coach Mike Brown traded in the hardwood for the gridiron – at least for a day anyway.
Brown, along with his father, brother, nephew, and son, were on hand Thursday afternoon as the Oakland Raiders got back to work following their mandatory day off on Wednesday.
"[Head] Coach [Jack] Del Rio reached out to me and asked if I'd come address the team during training camp if we could figure out a day that works, and today worked out," said Brown.
Brown watched practice from the sideline Thursday afternoon, and was introduced to the Silver and Black's offensive line during a lull in the action. He also spent time with Head Coach Jack Del Rio, as well as General Manager Reggie McKenzie.
Brown is scheduled to address the team Thursday evening to cap off what was an enjoyable day for the NBA Champion in Napa Valley.
"I'll tell you what, this is a beautiful setting," Brown said. "Not only that, I'm just amazed at how everything is set up for these guys. You walk 10 feet and you're at your hotel. You have the weight room right here. You have all the fields you need, and then you have the bleachers and fans in the sun."
