With one final, seven-on-seven period, the Oakland Raiders officially put pre camp in the books Wednesday afternoon at their Napa Valley Training Complex.
The Silver and Black's quarterbacks, rookies, and a few select other players have been in the heart of Wine Country since Sunday, and following Wednesday's session, they have now wrapped up the four-day pre camp. Now, there is just one last tent pole event left to kick off the 2017 campaign.
Training camp.
After a 12-4 effort last year that saw the team return to the postseason for the first time in over a decade, Head Coach Jack Del Rio's group is a team with expectations in 2017. However, Del Rio has been adamant all offseason about not listening to the praise, instead focusing on the process of becoming a good football team.
The several weeks of training camp are key in that process; not only is the entirety of the 90-man roster sequestered together at the team's training complex, but the sheer amount of practice time allows for a wealth of improvement and cohesion in a short amount of time.
The Silver and Black open their preseason slate of games August 12 at University of Phoenix against the Arizona Cardinals, so let's look at some other important dates on the horizon.
