Quarterback Garrett Gilbert
The Oakland Raiders have signed quarterback Garrett Gilbert to the practice squad, the club announced Tuesday afternoon.
Gilbert, who played collegiately at both the University of Texas as well as Southern Methodist University, was drafted in the sixth round (No. 214 overall) of the 2014 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams.
After spending time on the Rams practice squad, Gilbert also spent time with the New England Patriots and Detroit Lions before being signed the Raiders signed him to a Reserve/Future contract in January 2016. The club later waived him in May.
