Wide Receiver Amari Cooper, Quarterback Derek Carr, and Defensive End Khalil Mack
2016 was a banner year for the Silver and Black, both collectively for the team, and individually as well.
In his second year at the helm of the Oakland Raiders, Head Coach Jack Del Rio steered the Raiders to 12 wins – their most since 2000 – as well as the team's first postseason appearance since 2002.
Aside from the success the team as a whole found this season, individually, both the coaches and the players on the roster earned a plethora of accolades themselves.
Let's take a look at the honors and awards that the Raiders won in 2016.
General Manager Reggie McKenzie
- Named NFL Executive of the Year by the Pro Football Writers of America.
Head Coach Jack Del Rio
- Named the NFL 101 Awards' AFC Coach of the Year by The Committee of 101. The 101 Awards have annually honored outstanding achievement in the NFL based on votes by a selection committee of national media.
- Selected as the winner of the 28th annual Greasy Neale Professional Coach of the Year Award by the Maxwell Football Club.
QB Derek Carr
– Named the recipient of the prestigious Commitment to Excellence Award, given to the Raider who best exemplifies hard work, leadership, and excellence on and off the field throughout the season. The award is voted on by the players.
- Named the Raiders' nominee for the Art Rooney Sportsmanship Award, presented each year to an NFL player who best demonstrates the qualities of on-field sportsmanship, including fair play, respect for the game and opponents, and integrity in competition.
- Named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week for his Week 1 game-winning drive against the New Orleans Saints, leading Oakland to a 35-34 victory. After throwing a 10-yard TD pass to WR Seth Roberts with less than a minute left in the game, Carr then found WR Michael Crabtree for a two-point conversion to take the lead for good.
- Named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week in Week 4 at Baltimore, leading Oakland to a 28-27 win. Carr led the Raiders on a six-play, 66-yard drive in 1:24, culminating with a 23-yard, game-winning TD pass to WR Michael Crabtree.
- Named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week, Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week and FedEx Air Player of the Week for his record-setting performance at Tampa Bay in Week 8, lifting the Raiders to a 30-24 win. Carr threw for a franchise-record 513 yards, including a 41-yard TD pass to WR Seth Roberts with 1:45 remaining in overtime, completing 40-of-59 passes with four TDs for a 117.4 passer rating.
- Named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week in Week 12 vs. Carolina, leading the Raiders to a 35-32 comeback win. Carr led the Raiders back from an eight-point deficit in the fourth quarter, leading the Raiders on a 10-play, 75-yard drive in 4:49. He connected with TE Clive Walford on a 12-yard pass for the touchdown and WR Seth Roberts on the ensuing two-point conversion.
LS Jon Condo
– Voted by his teammates, Condo is the Raiders' winner of the Ed Block Courage Award, honoring those who exemplify commitments to the principles of sportsmanship and courage. The recipient symbolizes professionalism, great strength and dedication.
WR Amari Cooper
- Named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week in Week 11 vs. Houston, recording the game-winning 35-yard touchdown reception, juking multiple Texans defenders in the process. Cooper finished with four receptions for 57 yards and one touchdown.
C Rodney Hudson
- Named to the Pro Football Writers of America's All-AFC Team. The team is voted on by PFWA members.

LB Bruce Irvin** - Named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 15 performance at San Diego. Irvin totaled six tackles (four solo), two sacks and one forced fumble. His second sack came on the game's final drive as the Chargers were attempting to tie or win the game.
K Sebastian Janikowski
- Named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week for his Week 15 performance at San Diego, connecting on 4-of-4 field goals, including the game-winning 44-yarder with 2:40 remaining.
S Karl Joseph
- Named to the Pro Football Writers of America's All-Rookie Team after recording 76 tackles (51 solo), one interception, six passes defensed and one fumble recovery in 12 games this year. The team is voted on by PFWA members.
P Marquette King
- Named to the Associated Press All-Pro Second Team after totaling 81 punts for 3,937 yards (48.6 avg.) and 34 punts placed inside the opponents' 20-yard line.
– Named the AFC Special Teams Player of the Week for his Week 7 effort in the win against the Jacksonville Jaguars. King punted 5 times for 273 yards (54.6 gross avg. and 50.6 net avg.) with a 60- yard long and four punts placed inside the opponents' 20-yard line and one inside the 10-yard line, and one rush for 27 yards.
DE Khalil Mack
- Named the Pro Football Writers of America's Defensive Player of the Year after totaling 77 tackles (56 solo), 11 sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one interception and four passes defensed. The award is voted on by PFWA members.
- Named to the Pro Football Writers of America's All-NFL Team. The team is voted on by PFWA members.

- Named to the Associated Press All-Pro First Team after finishing the year with 77 tackles (56 solo), 11 sacks, five forced fumbles, three fumble recoveries, one interception and four passes defensed.
- Named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 9 performance in the Raiders' 30-20 victory over the Denver Broncos. Mack recorded three tackles (two solo), two sacks (-17 yards), one tackle for loss, one quarterback hit, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and one pass defensed.
- Named the AFC Defensive Player of the Week for his Week 12 performance in the Raiders' 35-32 win over the Carolina Panthers. Mack posted seven tackles (five solo), one sack, one interception, one touchdown, one pass defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery. He became the first player since 2009 to have an interception, sack, forced fumble, fumble recovery and a touchdown in the same game.
- Named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November after posting 13 tackles (10 solo), four sacks, two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, two passes defensed, one interception and one touchdown, helping the Raiders go 3-0 in November.
- Named the Castrol Edge Clutch Performer of the Week in Week 13 vs. Buffalo in the Raiders' 38-24 win over the Buffalo Bills. Mack registered a sack-fumble of QB Tyrod Taylor and recovered the fumble, sealing Oakland's victory.
RB Latavius Murray
- Named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week in Week 9 against the Denver Broncos, leading the run game in the 30-20 win. Murray rushed for 114 yards on 20 carries (5.7 avg.) and tied a franchise record with three TDs.
- Named the FedEx Ground Player of the Week in the Raiders' Week 13 38-24 victory over the Buffalo Bills. Murray rushed for 82 on 20 carries and two touchdowns.
G/T Kelechi Osemele
- Named to the Associated Press All-Pro First Team after helping the Raiders finish sixth in total offense this year, while also serving as part of an offensive line that allowed a league-low 18 sacks.
- Named to the Pro Football Writers of America's All-NFL Team. The team is voted on by PFWA members.
T Donald Penn
- Named the team's recipient of the Craig Long Award, presented to the player who best exemplifies professionalism and collaboration with the media at large.
- Named to the Pro Football Writers of America's All-AFC Team. The team is voted on by PFWA members.
DT Dan Williams
- Named the team's nominee for the Walter Payton Man of the Year, representing the best of the NFL's commitment to philanthropy and community impact. The Walter Payton NFL Man of the Year Award recognizes a player for his excellence on and off the field.
Pro Bowl Raiders
Oakland Raiders QB Derek Carr, WR Amari Cooper, C Rodney Hudson, DE Khalil Mack, S Reggie Nelson, G/T Kelechi Osemele and T Donald Penn have been named to the 2017 Pro Bowl, the NFL announced on Dec. 20, 2016.
WR Michael Crabtree, G Gabe Jackson, K Sebastian Janikowski, P Marquette King, RB Latavius Murray, FB/RB Jamize Olawale and RB Jalen Richard (return specialist) were named as alternates for the annual all-star game, scheduled to be played at Camping World Stadium in Orlando, Fla., on Jan. 29.
The seven Raiders selected to the Pro Bowl are the most since the team had eight players named in 1991.
Carr earns his second selection to the Pro Bowl, having been named in 2015. This year, he started 15 games, throwing for 3,937 yards on 357-of-560 passing (63.8 percent) with 28 touchdowns to only six interceptions for a passer rating of 96.7. Carr has led the Raiders to seven fourth-quarter comebacks and game-winning drives this year, and his five game-winning touchdown passes in the fourth quarter or overtime are a single-season NFL record. In Week 8 against Tampa Bay, Carr was named the AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance, posting a franchise-record 513 passing yards on 40-of-59 passing with four touchdowns and a 117.4 passer rating.
Cooper, earning a Pro Bowl selection for the second time in his two NFL seasons, totaled 83 receptions for 1,153 yards and five touchdowns. He had four 100-yard receiving games on the year, including a career-high 173 yards in Week 8 against Tampa Bay.
Mack has been named to his second consecutive Pro Bowl after being selected to the squad last year as well. Mack was named the AFC Defensive Player of the Month for November to go along with two AFC Defensive Player of the Week Awards (Weeks 9 and 12). Mack's 11 sacks are tied for fifth in the NFL this year, and from Week 6-14, he tied an NFL single-season record by collecting a sack in eight consecutive games. In Week 12 vs. Carolina, Mack became the first player since 2009 to record a sack, interception returned for a touchdown, forced fumble and fumble recovery in the same game. He finished the year with 11 sacks, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries.
Nelson's selection is the second of his 10-year career and second consecutive honor. He led the team with five interceptions on the year and finished second on the team with 86 tackles and seven takeaways.
Hudson, Osemele and Penn anchor an offensive line that paved the way for one of the league's top offenses in 2016. For Hudson and Osemele, it is their first selection, while Penn earns his second selection after getting the nod in 2010. As a unit, the offensive line allowed a league-low 18 sacks on the campaign.
