Quarterback Derek Carr
After three NFL seasons, Derek Carr's trophy case is starting to fill up.
The Oakland Raiders starting quarterback has earned two nods to the Pro Bowl, and was in the MVP conversation before his season ended up prematurely Week 16 against the Indianapolis Colts, and Saturday night he took home yet another trophy for his collection, the 2016 Commitment to Excellence Award.
"I'm so honored and thankful," said Carr in a pre-recorded message. "First, I think God for the opportunity to be on this team. It's a dream come true, especially being a fan as a little kid. My dad's side of the family [are] all Raiders fans, so we always watched the games growing up, so to be recognized by my teammates, for such an award like this, the Commitment to Excellence Award, really means everything to me."
Carr becomes the first quarterback to take home the award since Rich Gannon did so in 2000, and you can watch his full acceptance speech, as well as images from the event, below.
