Raiders Add Veteran LB Omar Gaither

The Raiders have added free agent linebacker Omar Gaither, General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Monday.

A seven-year NFL veteran, Gaither was with the Raiders for the second half of the 2012 season, seeing action in seven games with four starts for the Silver and Black. Gaither started four of the team's final five games of the campaign, posting 20 tackles (10 solo).

The 6-foot-1, 235-pound Gaither was in training camp with the Houston Texans in 2012 and spent the 2011 season with Carolina, where he saw action in 10 games with four starts.

He played in 67 games with 36 starts over five seasons with the Eagles, entering the league as Philadelphia's fifth-round selection (168th overall) in the 2006 NFL Draft out of Tennessee.

The Charlotte, N.C.-native has played in 84 career games with 44 starts, totaling six sacks, 18 passes defensed, two interceptions, two forced fumbles and two fumble recoveries.
