ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have hired Jim Abrams as director of college scouting, Dwayne Joseph as director of pro personnel, DuJuan Daniels as assistant director of player personnel and Walter Juliff as senior advisor to the general manager, the team announced Tuesday.
The Raiders have also hired Jack Gilmore as scouting coordinator, John Hill as a pro scout and Adam Maxie as a pro scouting assistant.
Additionally, General Manager Mike Mayock has promoted Tom Delaney to senior vice president – director of football administration, David Christoff to director of football analytics, Teddy Atlas to assistant director of college scouting and Trey Scott to assistant director of player personnel.
Abrams joins the Raiders after serving in the Dallas Cowboys' scouting department for seven seasons. Prior to joining the Cowboys as the team's West Coast scout in 2012, Abrams spent seven years with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers where he was a national scout with specific emphasis on the western region. He also served 13 years with the San Francisco 49ers as a scouting assistant, regional scout and national scout. Abrams played safety at Kent State after transferring from City College of San Francisco.
Joseph comes to the Silver and Black after spending four seasons as the Philadelphia Eagles' director of pro scouting. He coordinated all aspects of the pro scouting department and was on staff with the Eagles' Super Bowl LII championship team. Prior to Philadelphia, Joseph was with the Chicago Bears for three seasons and served in multiple capacities for the Miami Dolphins from 2004-11. A four-year letterman at Syracuse, Joseph signed with the Bears in 1994 as an undrafted free agent and played in 16 career games with one start as a cornerback.
Daniels joins the Raiders after serving the previous 13 seasons in the New England Patriots' player personnel department. He spent the past six seasons as a national scout for New England. He joined the Patriots as a scouting assistant in 2006 and was also an area scout for five years. During his time in New England, the Patriots won 12 AFC East Division titles and claimed three Super Bowl championships (XLIX, LI and LIII). A four-year letterman at Boston College, Daniels was a two-time Big East All-Academic Team selection.
Juliff enters his 36th season in NFL scouting, having served the previous 31 years in the Dallas Cowboys' personnel department. Juliff became a national scout for the Cowboys in 2008 after being the club's southeast area scout from 2001-07. He was assistant director of college and pro scouting from 1995-2000 after serving eight years as a national and area scout. Before becoming a full-time scout, Juliff was a graduate assistant at the University of Texas for two years. He earned his bachelor's degree at Angelo State University and an M.B.A. from Texas.
Gilmore comes to the Raiders after working for the Reese's Senior Bowl in 2018 as a scouting assistant. Gilmore previously served in operations with the Buffalo Bills and was a graduate assistant at the University of North Alabama. He graduated from Alabama, where he also worked as a football personnel assistant from 2015-17 and earned his M.B.A. at North Alabama.
Hill served as scouting coordinator with the Philadelphia Eagles for three seasons and was on staff when the Eagles won Super Bowl LII. Hill was a defensive back at Princeton from 2012-15, totaling four career interceptions and helping lead the Tigers to the Ivy League title in 2013. He also participated in track and field, winning Ivy League team and individual championships.
Maxie joins the Raiders for his first year as a pro scouting assistant. Maxie finished his collegiate career as a defensive back at Coastal Carolina, playing 15 games in two seasons after transferring from Kent State. Following his collegiate career, Maxie earned a tryout with the Buffalo Bills in 2017. His father, Brett, played 13 seasons in the NFL.
Delaney is in his 20th year with the Raiders and has served as the director of football administration since 2012. He is responsible for negotiating player contracts and managing the salary cap. A native of Pleasanton, Calif., Delaney holds a math degree from UC Davis and worked in asset management as a financial analyst prior to joining the Raiders.
Christoff enters his fifth season with the Raiders, joining the team as a player personnel analyst in 2015 and serving as director of player analytics since 2017. Previously, Christoff was an independent sports analyst at InsourcedSports.com and was a research analyst at the MIT Sloan School of Management. He graduated from MIT with a degree in mechanical engineering.
Atlas, who enters his ninth year with the Raiders, joined the Silver and Black in 2011 and was named scouting coordinator prior to the 2012 season. He was a football operations assistant with the Cleveland Browns in 2009 before becoming a full-time personnel assistant in 2010. A native of Staten Island, N.Y., Atlas boxed at Northeastern University in Boston.
Scott enters his eighth season with the Silver and Black, having joined the team as an area scout in 2012, primarily scouting the Midwest. He also worked in the Washington Redskins' player personnel department in 2011. A native of Kansas City, Kan., Scott graduated from Kansas State, where he played quarterback and majored in business management.
