ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed LB Tyrell Adams and LB/DE James Cowser to the active roster from the practice squad, the club announced Saturday. In corresponding moves, the team has released T Matt McCants and waived TE Ryan O'Malley.

Adams joined the Raiders' practice squad on Oct. 5 following stints with the Seattle Seahawks and Kansas City Chiefs. This year, he has also spent time on the Chiefs' practice squad. The 6-foot-2, 230-pounder played in 44 games at West Georgia, totaling 220 tackles, three sacks and four interceptions.

Cowser was originally signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in May 2016. He was waived/injured by the team on Sept. 3 before being signed to the practice squad on Oct. 4. The 6-foot-3, 245-pounder played four years at Southern Utah, setting the NCAA FCS record with 43.5 career sacks.

Adams will wear No. 58 and Cowser will wear No. 47.
