Raiders Down Ravens in Thriller 37-33

QB Derek Carr connected with WR Seth Roberts for a go-ahead 12-yard touchdown pass with 26 seconds left as the Oakland Raiders defeated the Baltimore Ravens 37-33 in a thriller at O.co Coliseum in Oakland. WRs Michael Crabtree and Amari Cooper each went over 100 yards receiving and each hauled in a touchdown pass from Carr.

The Ravens won the opening coin toss and deferred their choice to the second half. The Raiders elected to receiver the opening kickoff. K Justin Tucker's opening kickoff sailed out of the end zone for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20 with Derek Carr at quarterback. Carr capped the 6-play, 80-yard drive with a 68-yard touchdown pass to rookie wide receiver Amari Cooper – Cooper's first career TD catch. K Sebastian Janikowski's PAT was good and the Raiders led 7-0 with 12:49 left in the 1st quarter. 

Janikowski's ensuing kickoff flew out of the back of the end zone for a touchback and Baltimore started at the 20 with Joe Flacco at quarterback. The Ravens fumbled the ball right back to the Raiders as CB TJ Thorpe came up with the strip and LB Curtis Lofton recovered at the Ravens 29. A pass interference call on a pass intended for WR Michael Crabtree set the Raiders up with first and goal at the Baltimore 7. The Raiders were forced to settle for a field goal attempt. Jankikowski's 23-yard kick was good and the Raiders led 10-0 with 11:44 left in the first quarter. 

Janikowski's ensuing kickoff was returned to the Baltimore 30 by WR Michael Campanaro. Baltimore drove deep into Raiders territory but were forced to settle for a field goal attempt. A 12-men on the field on defense penalty shortened the distance for the kick. Tucker's 22-yard field goal was good and cut the Raiders lead to 10-3 with 7:41 left in the 1st quarter. 

Tucker's ensuing kickoff flew out of the back of the end zone for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20. The Raiders were unable to mount a scoring drive and were forced to punt on 4th and 5 at the Baltimore 48. P Marquette King's 48-yard punt landed in the end zone for a touchback. 

Flacco tied the game 10-10 with a 26-yard touchdown pass to TE Crockett Gillmore. 

RB Taiwan Jones fielded the ensuing kickoff 8 yards deep in the end zone and took a knee for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20. The Raiders marched right down the field. RB Latavius Murray capped the 80-yard drive with a 1-yard TD run that was set up by a 21-yard strike to WR Andre Holmes. The PAT was good and the Raiders led 17-10 with 12:52 left in the 2nd quarter. 

Janikowski's ensuing kickoff sailed out of the end zone for a touchback and the Ravens started at the 20. The Raiders stopped Flacco on a 3rd and 1 quarterback sneak. The Ravens selected to go for it at their own 29 and got it by the nose of the ball on a sweep to the left side.  Flacco then capped the drive with a 9-yard TD pass to Gillmore. The PAT was good and the game was tied at 17-17 with 7:44 left in the 2nd quarter. 

Tucker's ensuing kickoff flew out of the end zone for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20. The Raiders were forced to settle for a field goal attempt. Janikowski's 46-yard attempt was good and the Raiders took a 20-17 lead with 2:00 left in the 2nd quarter. 

The ensuing kickoff sailed out of the end zone for a touchback and the Ravens started at the 20. Baltimore drove deep into Raiders territory but were forced to settle for a chip-shot field goal. The 21-yard FG tied the game at 20-20 at the end of the first half. 

Campanaro fielded the opening kickoff of the second half for a touchback. The Raiders held the Ravens to a three-and-out. CB TJ Carrie's nice punt return was wiped out by a penalty and the Raiders took over at the 25. 

The Raiders were forced to settle for a field goal attempt. Janikowski's 48-yard attempt was perfect and the Raiders took a 23-20 lead with 8:44 left in the 3rd quarter. 

Campanaro fielded the ensuing kickoff in the end zone and took a knee for a touchback. The Raiders allowed one first down before forcing a punt. Carrie was dumped immediately after fielding the punt at the Oakland 16. 

Carr directed a masterful 84-yard drive and capped it with a 29-yard touchdown pass to Crabtree. The PAT was good and the Raiders led 30-20 with 2:12 left in the 3rd quarter.

Janikowski's ensuing kickoff flew out of the back of the end zone for another touchback and the Ravens started at the 20. The Raiders were able to hold Baltimore to field goal attempt. The 37-yard kick was good and cut the Raiders lead to 30-23 with 13:37 left in the 4th quarter.

Jones fielded the line drive kick deep in the end zone and took a knee for a touchback. The Raiders went three-and-out and King came on to punt. King's career-long 70-yard punt was downed at the Ravens 7. Baltimore tied the game with a 7-yard TD run. The score was 30-30 with 7:03 left to play.

The ensuing kickoff flew out of the back of the end zone for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20. Carr was picked off by Will Hill III, who returned the interception to the Oakland 37. The Raiders forced a field goal attempt. The 31-yard kick was good and the Ravens led 33-30 with 2:10 to play.

After a penalty on the extra point, Tucker kicked off from the 50 and launched it into the stands. The Raiders started at the 20 needing a field goal to tie. Carr led the Raiders down the field and gave them the lead with a 12-yard TD pass to WR Seth Roberts. The PAT was good and the Raiders led 37-33 with 26 seconds left.

Campanaro fielded the ensuing kickoff in the end zone for a touchback and the Ravens started at the 20. CB Neiko Thorpe picked off a Flacco pass to secure the victory.

Carr took a knee as the Raiders improve to 1-1 on the season. The Raiders head to Cleveland next week to take on the Browns.
