Raiders Employees John And Jim Otten Light Al Davis Memorial Torch

Each home game, the Oakland Raiders commemorate former Owner Al Davis by lighting the Memorial Torch at the Oakland-Alameda County Coliseum prior to kickoff. Saturday, the Raiders hosted the Los Angeles Rams for the preseason home opener, and had two of their longest-tenured employees light the torch.

Their combined tenure with the Raiders is a remarkable 82 years, John Otten, or "Johnny O," began as a ball boy under Head Coach John Madden in 1969 – as has never missed a home game. Brother Jim joined in '83 – and took home a Super Bowl ring his first season with the club.

Running the video operations department – these men have been providing the film for coaches and players to study for decades. They've transcended the time and technology and are the best in the league at what they do.
