The Raiders won the opening coin toss and elected to receive. After K Steven Hauschka's touchback, the Raiders drive stalled at their own 38. WR Golden Tate returned P Shane Lechler's 41-yard punt 2 yards to the Seattle 23.
The Seahawks drive fizzled at the Raiders 35 and Hauschka missed a 53-yard field goal attempt. The Raiders took over at the Oakland 43.
Matt Leinart relieved Carson Palmer at quarterback for the Silver and Black. The Seahawks held the Raiders to a three-and-out and Lechler came on to punt. Lechler's 31-yard boot was downed at the Seattle 10 with 6:30 left in the first quarter.
The Raiders held Seattle to a three-and-out but WR Roscoe Parrish fumbled during the punt and Seattle recovered in Oakland territory. The Raiders defense stiffened and Hauschka came on and drilled a 25-yard field goal to give Seattle a 3-0 lead with 1:05 left in the first quarter.
RB Taiwan Jones let the ensuing kickoff fly over his head out of the end zone for a touchback and the Raiders started at the 20. The Raiders went three-and-out and Lechler came on to punt. After the punt, the return and a Seattle penalty, the Seahawks took over at the 26. Matt Flynn replaced Russell Wilson at quarterback.
The Raiders held the Seahawks to a three-and-out and P Jon Ryan came on. Parrish muffed the punt and a Seattle player attempted to recover the ball before it went out of bounds. The Raiders were awarded possession, however, Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll challenged the ruling. The ruling was upheld and the Raiders started their next possession at the 20.
A few plays later, CB Jeremy Lane intercepted a Leinart pass that was intended for WR Brandon Carswell. Lane was touched down at the Oakland 39. The Raiders forced a Hauschka field goal attempt. The 29-yard kick was good and the home team took a 6-0 lead with 9:32 left in the 2nd quarter.
DB Coye Francies returned the ensuing kickoff and fumbled as he was being tackled, however, the Raiders managed to recover at the 20. After a RB Mike Goodson 17-yard run, the Seahawks forced a Raiders punt. Tate returned Lechler's 59-yard punt to the Seattle 22.
RB Vai Taua capped an 11-play, 78-yard drive with a 2-yard TD run. The extra point was good and Seattle led 13-0 with 1:11 left in the 2nd quarter.
CB Bryan McCann returned the ensuing kickoff to the Oakland 21. The Seahawks held the Raiders to a three-and-out. Tate returned the 53-yard punt to the Seattle 21. A Taua run ended the hald and the Seahawks took a 13-0 lead into the locker room.
CB Phillip Adams returned K Eddy Carmona's kickoff to the Seattle 17. After allowing one first down, the Raiders defense forced a punt. McCann called for and made a fair catch of a Ryan punt at the Oakland 34. Terrelle Pryor entered the game at quarterback and the Seahawks held the Raiders to a three-and-out.
Tate fielded the 54-yard punt and was dropped at the Seattle 10. Flynn capped a 90-yard drive with a 4-yard TD pass to TE Cooper Helfet. The extra point was blocked by DT Dominique Hamilton and the Seahawks led 19-0 with 4:29 left in the 3rd quarter.
McCann fielded the ensuing kickoff in the end zone and took a knee for a touchback and the Raiders started their next drive at the 20. The Raiders drive stalled after one first down and Lechler came on to punt. Lechler's 54-yard bounced into the end zone for a touchback.
Josh Portis entered the game at quarterback for Seattle. The Raiders defense eventually forced a punt. After a McCann fair catch at the 8, the Raiders offense took the field with 9:49 left to play.
A few plays later, Goodson was caught in the end zone for a Seattle safety and the home team led 21-0 with 8:14 left in the game. After the free kick and a 21-yard return Seattle took over at their 35. After allowing one first down the Raiders forced a punt. After a running into the punter call, Seattle kept possession. four plays later the Raiders came up with a 4th down stop and took over on downs at their own 42 with 4:36 left to play.
The teams traded punts. Carmona staved off the shut out with a 31-yard field goal to make the score 21-3 with 15 seconds left to play.
The Raiders open the 2012 Regular Season on ESPN's Monday Night Football September 10 against the San Diego Chargers at O.co Coliseum in Oakland.
