Raiders Kickoff Preseason at Home on National TV vs Dallas

The Oakland Raiders kick off the franchise's 53rd season of professional football competition in the national spotlight, hosting the Dallas Cowboys at O.Co Coliseum on Monday night, August 13 on ESPN with kickoff at 5 p.m. PT.

[internal-link-placeholder-0]The Raiders and Cowboys will meet for the 28th time in the preseason, with the Silver and Black holding an 18-9 advantage in the all-time series. The teams last played a preseason contest in Oakland in 2009.

The Raiders travel to Arizona to face the Cardinals in Week 2. Oakland holds a 7-5 advantage in the all-time preseason series versus the Cardinals. The teams last met in the preseason last year in Oakland.

In Week 3, the Raiders host the Detroit Lions at O.Co Coliseum. The game will mark just the sixth preseason contest between the two teams with the Raiders holding a 4-1 mark against Detroit in the all-time preseason series.

In the preseason finale, the Raiders travel to Seattle to face the Seahawks in Week 4. The Raiders play the Seahawks, their former AFC Western Division foe, for the seventh straight time in the preseason and for the fifth time in the last six years in Seattle, including last year. Seattle leads the preseason series 3-7-0.

Raiders preseason games in 2012—except for the opener on ESPN— will again be produced in-house by the Emmy-Award-winning Silver and Black Productions and will air on KTVU FOX Channel 2/KICU Action 36. Silver and Black Productions also produces the popular magazine TV shows The Raiders Report and The Silver and Black Show.

2012 REGULAR SEASON OPPONENTS: In addition to playing fellow members of the American Football Conference Western Division twice—home and away—the Oakland Raiders also play all four members of the NFC South and AFC North, as well as one team each from the AFC East and AFC South.

HOME: Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, Cleveland Browns, Jacksonville Jaguars, New Orleans Saints, Pittsburgh Steelers, San Diego Chargers, Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

AWAY: Denver Broncos, Kansas City Chiefs, San Diego Chargers, Atlanta Falcons, Baltimore Ravens, Carolina Panthers, Cincinnati Bengals, Miami Dolphins.

In 2012, the Raiders will play seven games against teams that qualified for the postseason in 2011—home-and-away games versus the Denver Broncos; home games versus the Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orleans Saints; away games versus the Baltimore Ravens, Cincinnati Bengals and Atlanta Falcons.

The 2012 NFL regular season kicks off on Wednesday, September 5 with the first week of Sunday games slated for September 9.
