Throughout his lengthy NFL career, new Raiders offensive line coach Mike Tice has seen it all, both good and not-so-good. He recently sat down with SiriusXM NFL Radio to discuss a number of topics: his thoughts on the offensive line, and what he's been seeing from young quarterback . He also talked about what he's currently seeing in Oakland with the new coaching staff and why he thinks good things are on the horizon:
"There's some character being built in the building all the way across the board that Jack has created. There's a winning attitude. I like where we're at right now, I like where we were at when we broke for summer break and again, Jack has done a great job of setting the tone and not only with the players but with the coaching staff and everybody else in the building."
Coach Tice is hoping that the winning attitude being created can translate to the field immediately.
"Everybody's on board right now so it'll be important for us to get an early good start because that can sustain that energy that Jack has created to this point."
Of course, Tice spent several years with Head Coach Jack Del Rio with the Jacksonville Jaguars – he believes that Coach Del Rio is getting even better as a coach as he sets his eyes on a big goal: "Yeah, like any of us, we like to get better at our trade. We like to mature as a professional. I think Jack has done both. I think he's better at his trade, he's learned from some of his mistakes as we all do, and he's also really focused on bringing the championship team back to his hometown, which is the Oakland area."
