Raiders Practice Notebook: Week 2's Fast Friday

The Oakland Raiders hit the field for a "Fast Friday" practice at their Alameda, Calif., facility as they make final preparations to host the Baltimore Ravens at O.co Coliseum this Sunday. Kickoff is set for 1:05 p.m.

The game will air on CBS (KPIX CBS 5 in the Bay Area), with Spero Dedes, Solomon Wilcots and Scott Kaplan on the call.

Wilcots, a former NFL player and longtime color commentator, said it will be very important for the Raiders to stick to the game plan this week against the Ravens.

"It's important, you have to keep that score down in order to stick to the run game and they fell behind big time to the Cincinnati Bengals," Wilcots said. "This team has to rely on their defense."

Wilcots added that he'd like to see the Raiders run the ball with running back Latavius Murray and take some shots downfield with quarterback Derek Carr, wide receiver Amari Cooper and the tight ends against an aggressive Ravens defense.

"I think the Raiders need to crank up the running game to help this offense get going," Wilcots said. "I want to see Carr and I want to see Cooper begin to connect and I want to see the tight ends get involved in the offense as well."

Although this Ravens team is "battle tested" Wilcots said that their offense is in its infancy with the fourth offensive coordinator in four years as Marc Trestman takes over for Gary Kubiak.

"Joe Flacco is playing for the fourth offensive coordinator in four years. Their offense is at a stage of infancy, they're trying to grow, they're trying to develop," Wilcots said. "The Raiders defense has to take advantage of that, that this is only their second game in this offensive system. Keep the score down, and that will allow the offensive side of the ball for the Raiders to be continue to be committed to the run game, give the ball to Latavius Murray down in and down out and see what he can give you."

Injury Report

Quarterback Derek Carr was a full participant and is listed as probable, safety Charles Woodson participated on a limited basis and is questionable, defensive end Benson Mayowa, fullback Jamize Olawale and defensive tackle Justin Ellis did not participate and are out for Sunday's game.

Song of the Day

And our last Song of the Day for the week is from the Bay Area's own E-40 - "Choices (YUP)" from 2014's *Sharp On All 4 Corners: Corner 1. *Interesting track, gritty video, a morality tale of some variety.
