The Raiders have re-signed RB Rock Cartwright.
The Oakland Raiders have re-signed veteran running back and special teams standout Rock Cartwright. Cartwright joined the Raiders as a free agent in April 2010.
After just one season with the Silver and Black, Cartwright was voted the 2010 Commitment to Excellence Award winner. Recipients of the award are chosen by their teammates and are selected based on their hard work, leadership, and excellence on and off the field throughout the season.
Cartwright blocked a punt for a safety during the Raiders 2010 Week 5 win over the San Diego Chargers in Oakland, returned six kickoffs for 103 yards, forced a fumble while making a special teams tackle against the Kansas City Chiefs during a Week 9 23-20 overtime win in Oakland, and made 17 special teams tackles on the season. The nine-year pro out of Kansas State has played in 139 career games and has also rushed for 911 yards on 224 carries (4.1) and six touchdowns.
