The Oakland Raiders have re-signed kicker Sebastian Janikowski. The Silver and Black's first round pick in the 2000 NFL Draft reached the 1,000 career point mark last season while leading the Raiders in scoring for the 10th straight year with 95 points.
He made 26 of 29 field goal attempts and was good on 15 field goals from 40 yards or longer last season.
Last season, Janikowski was one of only two NFL kickers to make six field goals of 50 yards or longer, including a franchise record 61-yarder at Cleveland on December 27, the third longest in NFL history.
Janikowski became the Raiders all-time leading scorer in 2008, surpassing George Blanda's record of 863 points. For his career, Janikowski is 229 of 292 (78.4) on field goal attempts and 313 of 316 (99.1) on extra points for 1,000 points. He has also totaled 146 touchbacks on kickoffs, leading the NFL with 22 touchbacks in 2007 and tying for second in the league with the same total in 2008.
