Raiders Re-Sign Tight End Lee Smith

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have re-signed free agent TE Lee Smith, the club announced Thursday.

Smith returns to the Raiders after playing the last three years for the team, having signed with Oakland in 2015. In his first three seasons with the Silver and Black, Smith appeared in 35 games with 25 starts, hauling in 26 receptions for 175 yards and one touchdown.

The 6-foot-6, 265-pounder was originally drafted by the New England Patriots in the fifth round of the 2011 NFL Draft before playing for the Buffalo Bills from 2011-14. Over his seven-year career, the primarily blocking tight end has played in 91 games with 62 starts and totaled 46 receptions for 319 yards with four touchdowns.

The Powell, Tenn., native played collegiately at Marshall, appearing in 48 games over four seasons and totaling 75 receptions for 791 yards.
