The Raiders participated in their last full practice before their matchup with the Green Bay Packers today.
After practice, Head Coach Dennis Allen addressed the media and spoke about his team's excitement for their third preseason game.
"We're excited about the opportunity to go up there," said Coach Allen. "It will be a great environment to play in. Lambeau Field, against the Packers, be a heck of a test for us, a good measuring stick for us and I think our guys are excited and ready to go play."
The Raiders have several players who have spent time in Green Bay, including Charles Woodson, James Jones and C.J. Wilson, and Friday's game will mark the first time they will face off against their former team as members of the Silver and Black.
Allen also spoke about Wilson and the role he envisions for him during the regular season.
"C.J.'s done a good job for us, playing defensive end. We moved him inside some, played defensive tackle," Coach Allen said. "He's a versatile player, he's a good run player, and that's really the reason why we brought him here was to be able to come in and play the run for us and he's done a nice job of that. I'm pleased with where he is and I know he's looking forward to going back to Green Bay and playing up there, as well as a couple other guys we've got."
FB Marcel Reece also addressed the media in the locker room after practice and spoke about what makes this year feel different.
"The difference is there's a sense of urgency among the players," Reece said. "There's some more veteran leadership on both sides of the ball, in all phases of the game. It's encouraging. It's encouraging to have a group of guys around you that have the same sense of urgency and are out for the same goal."
The team has a walk-through tomorrow before they fly to Green Bay and take on the Packers Friday night at 5:00 p.m. PT.
