Guard Denver Kirkland
ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed G Denver Kirkland to the active roster, the club announced Wednesday.
Joining the active roster from the practice squad, Kirkland was originally signed by the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in May 2016. He was with the team through training camp before being waived on Sept. 3, and was signed to the practice squad the next day.
The 6-foot-4, 335-pound Kirkland played three years at Arkansas, appearing in 38 games with 34 starts at guard and tackle. He was named to the All-SEC Third Team by Phil Steele as a junior in 2014.
Additionally, the Raiders have signed LB Darnell Sankey to the practice squad. Sankey originally entered the NFL as an undrafted free agent with the Denver Broncos in 2016, signing with the team in July. He was with the team during training camp before be waived on Aug. 29. The 6-2, 250-pounder played collegiately at Sacramento State, where he led the Big Sky Conference and finished second in the FCS with 153 tackles last season. He also had nine tackles for loss and 3.5 sacks.
