ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed LB Jamar Chaney, General Manager Reggie McKenzie announced Wednesday.
A fifth-year player, Chaney joins the Raiders following stops with the Philadelphia Eagles (2010-12), Atlanta Falcons (2013) and Denver Broncos (2014 training camp). For his career, the 6-foot, 242-pounder has totaled 161 tackles (124 solo), one sack, three interceptions, 12 passes defensed and one forced fumble. In 2011, he started all 16 games for Philadelphia and led the team with 104 tackles (84 solo) and posted three interceptions.
Originally a seventh-round selection (220th overall) by the Eagles, Chaney played in 49 career games at Mississippi State, earning second-team All-SEC honors as both a junior and senior.
To make room on the roster, the Raiders have placed LB Nick Roach on the reserve/injured list.
