ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed RB Elijah Hood to the active roster, the club announced Wednesday.

Hood was originally drafted by the Raiders in the seventh round (242nd overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, and has spent the previous seven weeks of the regular season on the club's practice squad.

The 5-foot-11, 230-pounder played three years at North Carolina from 2014-16, appearing in 34 games with 25 starts and totaling 2,580 rushing yards on 431 carries with 29 touchdowns. As a receiver, he hauled in 38 receptions for 204 yards. Hood's 2,580 rushing yards rank ninth in school history.

Additionally, the Raiders have signed DL Jhaustin Thomas to the practice squad. Thomas originally signed with the Indianapolis Colts as an undrafted free agent out of Iowa State this past May, and spent time on the Cleveland Browns' practice squad last month.
