Raiders Sign Tight End Derek Carrier

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed unrestricted free agent TE Derek Carrier, the club announced Thursday.

Carrier, 27, was a member of the Los Angeles Rams in 2017, playing in 14 games with three starts and tallying eight receptions for 71 yards (8.9 avg.).

The 6-foot-4, 244-pounder originally signed with the Raiders as an undrafted free agent in 2012, and has since made stops with the Philadelphia Eagles, San Francisco 49ers, New Orleans Saints, Washington Redskins and Rams.

In 50 career games with 16 starts, Carrier has totaled 36 receptions for 327 yards (9.1 avg.) and one touchdown, while also adding three kickoff returns for 41 yards.

Carrier attended Beloit College (Wis.), where he earned All-Midwest Conference honors twice and was named the Wisconsin Football Coaches Association Private College Player of the Year in 2011. In 39 games with the Buccaneers, the Edgerton, Wis., native set school records in receptions (189), receiving yards (3,111) and receiving touchdowns (29).
