Raiders Sign Wide Receiver Jordy Nelson

ALAMEDA, Calif. – The Oakland Raiders have signed free agent WR Jordy Nelson, the club announced Thursday.

Nelson joins the Raiders after 10 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, helping Green Bay to eight postseason appearances and a Super Bowl title. The 2014 Pro Bowler joins the Raiders having appeared in 136 career games with 88 starts, totaling 550 receptions for 7,848 yards (14.3 avg.) and 69 touchdowns. In 13 career postseason games, Nelson has posted 54 catches for 668 yards and five touchdowns.

The 6-foot-3, 217-pounder leaves Green Bay as one of the top wide receivers in franchise history, ranking third in receptions, fifth in receiving yards and second in receiving touchdowns. He is also the franchise's leader in postseason receptions.

Last season, Nelson recorded 53 receptions for 482 yards and six touchdowns. He set a single-season franchise record with 1,519 receiving yards in 2014, as he was selected to his first career Pro Bowl and earned second-team All-Pro honors from the Associated Press. He was also named the AP Comeback Player of the Year in 2016 after recording 97 receptions for 1,257 yards and 14 touchdowns.

A native of Manhattan, Kan., Nelson played in 36 games at Kansas State, posting 206 receptions for 2,822 yards and 20 touchdowns. He also posted the most prolific single season in Kansas State history with 122 receptions for 1,606 yards in 2007 on his way to earning consensus All-American honors.
