Raiders To Announce Day 3 Draft Picks From Nellis Air Force Base In Las Vegas

The Oakland Raiders today announced that their Day 3 selections for the 2018 NFL Draft will be made from Nellis Air Force Base in Las Vegas inside the hangar that houses the Thunderbirds.

Raiders Alumnus Greg Townsend will be joined by Nellis Air Force Base Airmen and members of the Thunderbirds in making the selections.

The Raiders presently have seven selections in Rounds 4-6—one in the fourth (No. 110), two in the fifth (Nos. 159, 173) and four in the sixth (Nos. 185, 212, 216, 217).

Across the NFL, clubs are making their picks for Rounds 4-6 at locations across the country and around the world, including military bases, state landmarks, and major attractions. For the second straight year, Round 6 will be youth football-themed and the Raiders have invited 15 children of servicemembers stationed at Nellis Air Force Base to participate in the selections.

The Raiders have chosen unique locations to announce Draft Day 3 selections live on the NFL Network and on NFL.com for the past three years. Last year, the Raiders made the announcements in Las Vegas in front of the iconic "Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas" sign. In 2016, the Raiders announced the draft picks from Mexico City and in 2015, Raiders selections were broadcast from Travis Air Force Base.

The 2018 NFL Draft kicks off with the first round Thursday, April 26 at 5:00 p.m. PT, followed by Rounds 2-3 Friday, April 27 at 4:00 p.m. PT and Rounds 4-7 Saturday, April 26 at 9:00 a.m. PT from AT&T Stadium.
